professional experience
Kate studied Intellectual Property as part of her law degree and gained a deep interest in trade mark law when she completed her dissertation on the changes in trade mark law in the UK. After completing the LPC in Nottingham Kate joined Carpmaels & Ransford, the well-established London based firm of patent and trade mark attorneys where she trained and qualified.
During her time there she built up a broad range of experience including trade mark clearance searching, advising on the inherent registrability of trade marks, advising on global portfolio strategies, filing and prosecution of UK and Community trade mark applications and oppositions, filing and prosecution of International Registrations under the Madrid Protocol, advising on and filing overseas trade mark applications, global assignment work and advising on infringement issues.
A recent addition to the HallMark team, Kate is looking forward to working with many of our clients in the protection and development of their trade mark portfolios.
Kate is an Examiner for the Trade Mark Practice Foundation Paper for the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys.
