Under the Community Trade Mark Regulations it is a requirement for a representative to have an Authorisation of Agent to act on behalf of their client.  However, due to the administrative burden this has created, The Community Trade Marks Office (OHIM) no longer processes or checks Authorisations if they are submitted and has stopped calling for signed Authorisations unless there are serious doubts relating to the representative's authority to act.  For this reason we no longer ask our clients to sign an Authorisation unless we are called to submit one by OHIM.
